This Genesis Shaftway Model was installed to provide access from the pool area of the home to the main living area. The lift has been finished to blend with the homes surroundings and features push button controls and courtesy lights.
This is an example of a fire rated door. These doors are primed and ready for painting.
This Genesis Shaftway model is installed outdoors and is surrounded by the same brick finish as the house. The lift is painted with Garaventa's standard color - Satin Grey.

Garaventa Genesis Shaftway

The Genesis Shaftway is a vertical lift installed within a shaftway by other forces. This design allows the Shaftway model of the Genesis to blend with your home. Please contact Garaventa New England for proper and safe methods of shaftway construction to facilitate the installation of our Shaftway Genesis lift.

Garaventa Genesis Shaftway - Standard Features

The Genesis Shaftway Model vertical platform lift is equipped with many standard features. Some of these features are listed below. For a more extensive list of features please contact our sales team or refer to the Genesis Planning Guide.

Shaftway Frame - The frame is constructed of champagne colored anodized aluminum extrusions.

Doors and Gates - The standard configuration for this model of lifts is a full size Garaventa style door at the lower landing. The upper landing may be fitted with a gate or full height door.

Door Interlocks - The Garaventa Powered Interlock is the standard lock used for Shaftway models that are equipped with Garaventa doors and gates. The Powered Interlock is a 24VDC solenoid interlock that is monitored by the safety circuit to ensure the door or gate is properly locked.

Drive Systems - The Genesis Shaftway Model has a choice of two standard drive systems.

Leadscrew Drive - The economical Leadscrew Drive System (2 HP motor) travels at 10 feet per minute and requires 120 VAC single phase on a dedicated 20 amp circuit. The Leadscrew Drive System can be ordered in six different lifting heights, up to a maximum of 147".

Hydraulic Drive - The Hydraulic Drive with full time battery operation (3 HP motor) is a quieter drive system and travels at 17 feet. per minute. This system requires 120 VAC single phase on a dedicated 15 amp circuit. The Hydraulic Drive System can be ordered in seven different lifting heights, up to a maximum of 171".

Call Stations - Consist of a directional rocker switch with an emergency stop/alarm button and is keyless. Keyed operation is required in some U.S. states.

Platform Controls - Consist of a constant pressure directional rocker switch, an emergency stop/alarm button and optional key switch. Keyed operation is required in some U.S. states.

Standard Finish - the standard finish is anodized champagne aluminum frames, with steel panels that are powder painted in Satin Grey (fine textured).

Manual Emergency Lowering Handwheel - (Leadscrew only) A hand wheel is used to manually lower the lift to the landing in the case of a power outage.

The lift can be equipped with a folding seat which is ideal for passengers who do not use a wheelchair.

Three Stop-Unit - the Genesis can be configured for three landings. The lower and middle landings must have a full height door and the upper landing may have either a full-height door or gate.

(Hydraulic Drive only) The manual emergency lowering device consists of a pull knob mounted in a box on the side of the mast. When this device is used, the platform is lowered to the desired landing.

Auxiliary Powered Drive - (Hydraulic Model only) this allows the passenger inside the lift to travel up or down to the desired landing in the event of a power failure.

Garaventa Genesis Shaftway - Optional Features

A variety of optional features allow for extensive customization of the Genesis Shaftway Model. Highlights of some of the optional features and descriptions are listed below. For a more extensive list of options contact our sales team or refer to the Genesis Planning Guide.

Full Time Battery Operation - (Hydraulic Model only) For low usage applications, full time battery operation is available. The drive is powered by a 24VDC battery pack charged from the building mains power by an integrated automatic charger. Continuous mains power is required if the lift is equipped with a fan and ventilation system.

Optional Finishes - for the Genesis Shaftway model the steel panels and aluminum extrusions can be painted from a large selection of RAL Colors or custom color matched.

Garaventa Style Door and Upper Landing Gate - The Garaventa style door and gate are pre-hung in an anodized aluminum champagne colored extrusion frame. They are constructed of 16 gauge powder coated galvanized steel.

Garaventa Power Door Operator - The power door operator automatically opens the door/gate when the platform arrives at the landing. When the lift is at the landing, the passenger can press the call station switch or gently pull on the door or gate to activate the door opener. Power door operators are recommended.

Fire Rated Doors - The fire rated door is prehung and is constructed of 16 gauge steel. The rigid foam filled door has a vision panel and a delayed action door closer. The door and frame have an 1 1/2 hour "B" label fire rating and an integrated interlock system.

Call Station Controls - A push button style call station is available as an option. Also an optional key switch can be supplied and may be required in certain U.S. states.

Attendant Call - In situations where the lift must be attendant operated, the call stations can be modified to include an attendant call button.

Platform Controls - Large, individual, illuminated push button controls are optional on the lift. These controls are equipped with an audible illuminated Emergency Stop/Alarm button and courtesy lights that are activated when the passenger enters the lift and during operation. The platform controls can also be equipped with an optional key switch and may be required in some U.S. states.

Battery Powered Emergency Lowering - (Leadscrew Drive only) this emergency lowering system is automatically activated in the event of a power failure.
